He was born at the farm home, aswas all his brothers. He went by his middle name Wilfred orWilf. His older brothers called him \very musical playing a number of instruments and played ina band for extra money. He worked on the family farm asdid his older brothers.Wilf met his future wife Bessie McDougall while they werewriting their grade 8 exams in Wapella.They got married on May 14, 1938, in Winnipeg, Man.They were both working there at the time. In 1939, theymoved back to the Isaac Wilson family farm, to work forWilfred's brother Bernard who had taken over the farm in1938 when his father Isaac had retired. While working there,Wilfred & Bessie started building their own home on aquarter a mile & half away. In 1940 they moved into theirhome. Wilfred worked off the farm in the winter tosupplement the farm income. Ontario pulp mill in 1952,then road construction from 1956 to 1961, farm was rentedout during this time. In 1962 Wilfred & both his son's Wayne& Barry started work at the IMC Potash Mine. Wilfred againstarted back farming, he loved two things; the land & hiskids. After 18 years he retired from the mine in 1980 andfrom farming in 1981.During retirement they drove around a lot, spent time fishingat Wayne & Judy's cabin, visiting their daughter Carole, andice cream from Carole & Lorne's ice cream pallor, the MilkyWay in Regina. They lived at the farm till the winter of 1996,with help from their son Barry. They moved into Daisy HillLodge in Esterhazy and had a great winter.Sadly Wilfred passed away the following April, 1997.Wilfred & Bessie had 3 children;Wayne 1941, Barry 1944, Carole 1946.
